PEXCOM GmbH is a media company specialized in the commercial exploitation of copyrights and related rights for national and international film producers and film distributors in Germany and Austria, and soon in Switzerland. We ensure that your films and series not only generate revenue through traditional exploitation stages (cinema, TV, streaming, DVD/Blu-ray) but also unlock additional revenue streams through further rights exploitation, ensuring fair economic compensation.

Rights Management and Exploitation of Films and Series

We act as the direct (partly exclusive) licensee for a large number of domestic and international producers and film distributors for the exploitation of copyright and related rights. Additionally, we cooperate as an exclusive partner with filmbankmedia (Filmbank Distributors Ltd., UK), a joint venture between Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures Releasing, and NT Digital Partners.

Specifically, we handle the exploitation of the right of public performance (§ 19 para. 4 UrhG) and the right of public communication (§ 22 UrhG), as well as the right of public communication as per Art. 3 para. 1 of the InfoSoc Directive 2001/29/EC, as interpreted by the European Court of Justice (ECJ). This includes uses in hotels, hospitals, cruise ships, schools, and other settings.

PEXCOM GmbH aggregates rights from rights holders and licenses them to the relevant subsidiaries based on the type of license and territory.

In Germany, the subsidiaries of PEXCOM GmbH responsible for operations are Verwertungseinrichtung Audiovision GmbH (VEA) and United Contents GmbH. In Austria, the responsible entity is Verwertungsgesellschaft “RAW Einrichtung zur Geltendmachung der Rechte der öffentlichen Aufführung/Wiedergabe von Audiovisuellen Medien GmbH“.

As a government-approved copyright society for the administration of audiovisual rights, RAW represents film producers in dealings with public and private institutions, ensuring that its members receive revenue from the use of their creative works.
